Job-skills Training
Shitowa foundation will train women for community-based jobs so they can become economically independent. A few of the training provided are micro-agriculture trade and sewing. The women sew beach apparel from African fabric. An organization in the US sells the products for them to become self-sufficient economically.
Education
Illiteracy among women is a major problem in Congo, DRC and across the African continent. Our goal is to offer education to women victims and their children. Shitowa works with local schools to implement a subsidized tuition program, provide school supplies and uniforms.
Advocacy
Victims of war have no voice to express their pain, and no ability to alleviate their own suffering or the suffering of their children. We pledge to the women of Congo DRC and others in Africa that we will be their voice to the world.
Business Development Support
Shitowa offers access to capital and micro-credit programs designed to assist women in managing their own businesses and to start rebuilding their lives. |
